Island Green Motors is the creation of four entrepreneurs, Brooks McLaren, George Klopfer and Phil and Nancy Bunch. Their inspiration was that electric vehicles (EV's) are ideally suited to island markets, where typically road speeds are low, driving distances are short, the weather is temperate and imported gasoline is expensive.

The vision of Island Green Motors is to help island dwellers complete the transformation of their local energy economies to a 100% green, non-polluting future, by developing EVs that are specifically tailored to the specific needs of island markets. At Island Green Motors we have developed a sophisticated and economical electric drive train, sufficient to power a conventional passenger car, SUV or light truck, with the built in characteristics of speed and endurance that island drivers deserve.
